Marcelo Bielsa is a coach who generates a fascination that is unique among those in his profession. The passage of time has not mellowed this appraisal, on the contrary his image among the public has only grown to mythic proportions. The purpose of this book is to penetrate beyond the legendary façade and discover what makes the offensive game of the man from Rosario tick, highlighting his strategies when in possession and identifying the situations that constantly repeat when his teams play. This book will use screen shots and video links taken directly from games to help the reader understand the patterns and the tactical intricacies of the Maestro, focusing on two principal aspects of attacking play: the buildout phase and the progression/finishing phases of the game. What comes next is something that makes this book even more valuable and interesting: The Bielsa School is not just an analysis of the great man himself, but a comparative analysis of four other coaches who are said to have been influenced by his style and ideas: Mauricio Pochettino, Gerardo Martino, Jorge Sampaoli, and Gabriel Heinze. How much have these four coaches been inspired by Marcelo Bielsa? What elements do they share in common, and what are the differences between them? After reading this book you will be invited to draw your own conclusions.
